Wisconsin Poison Center Network

The Wisconsin Poison Center Network is made up of hospitals and health care facilities across the state that recognize the value of the services the poison center provides. They have committed to partner with the poison center so its services can continue. Network members receive unlimited consultations with experts at the poison center through membership dues. Members also avoid more costly professional consultation fees that are incurred by nonmember hospital and health care operations.

Loss of poison center services in Wisconsin would be devastating to health care facilities and providers, as well as to Wisconsin residents. Studies show poison center consultation helps avoid unnecessary trips to the emergency room and other health care services. Data from the Wisconsin Hospital Association and the Wisconsin Division of Public Health shows the poison center helped avoid more than $56.5 million in unnecessary medical costs last year.

The network is one tool that helps provide critical funding for the poison center.
